We manage numerous services that enable viewers to consume content on their own schedule and help creators expand their reach.</p> <h3><strong>About the Role</strong></h3> <p>As an Engineering Manager within the Engagement Growth organization, you will lead one of three engineering teams. Your team will collaboratively build experiences designed to keep viewers actively engaged with Twitch. This role involves close partnership with product managers, designers, and data scientists to develop systems serving millions of daily users.</p> <p>You can work from San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Irvine, CA; Seattle, WA; or New York, NY.</p> <h3><strong>You Will:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Build the systems that provide the critical connection between viewers and creators within the Twitch ecosystem</li> <li>Design and run consumer-scale services powering VODs, Clips and Stories for millions of daily users</li> <li>Power and enable AWS applications at scale</li> <li>Partner with Product, Design and Data</li> <li>Drive the professional growth and career advancement of team members through structured development planning, mentorship, and strategic talent management</li> <li>Develop a long term roadmap and set direction for a team of 10 engineers</li> </ul> <h3><strong>You Have:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>BA/BS in computer science or equivalent industry experience</li> <li>3+ years of experience as software engineering manager</li> <li>5+ years of working in software engineering</li> <li>Development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages such as: Golang, Python, C/C++, Java</li> <li>Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scalability) of new and existing systems</li> <li>Proven ability to identify user needs and deliver customer-centric product solutions</li> <li>Experience developing and running large-scale consumer services</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Bonus Points</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Familiarity in the AWS ecosystem of service</li> <li>Experience utilizing Agile development methodologies</li> <li>Experience in hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of software engineers</li> <li>Experience with full-stack or front-end development</li> <li>Deep knowledge of Golang</li> <li>Familiarity with Twitch, either as a viewer or creator (or both!)</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Perks</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Medical, Dental, Vision Disability Insurance</li> <li>401(k)</li> <li> ...
