Job Summary We are looking for a strategic, data-driven, and highly creative Director of Email Marketing Strategy and Execution to lead our lifecycle marketing engine. You will architect the entire customer journey, owning the strategy and execution of all email communications, sophisticated automation workflows, and multi-channel nurture programs designed to drive acquisition, retention, and lifetime value. The Team The Marketing team at Palo Alto Networks is a results-oriented, metrics-driven, and creative team of marketers, leading the charge in all aspects of marketing. Key Responsibilities Build and execute a comprehensive global email and automation roadmap that aligns with company revenue goals and simplifies our marketing approach. Design and implement complex, behavior-triggered nurture sequences for various personas across the entire customer lifecycle, focusing on the details of each step. Proactively collaborate and ensure alignment with Content, Design, Product, and Sales teams to create high-converting assets and achieve shared business goals. Lead a rigorous A/B and multivariate testing culture, challenging curiously to continuously optimize performance metrics like open rates, CTR, and conversion. Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), translating data into actionable insights and practical solutions for executive leadership. Build, manage, and empower a high-performing team of email strategists and execution specialists, holding the team accountable for results. Govern all email touchpoints to optimize the user experience and oversee the health, segmentation, and personalization of the marketing database. Drive AI automation initiatives to enhance personalization, optimize copy, and reduce manual execution efforts through applied learning. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 15 years of experience, or Master's degree with 12 years of experience, or PhD with 8 years of experience in marketing or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in email marketing, including direct experience managing a diverse team of specialists. Expertise in mapping complex customer journeys and designing behavior-triggered automation workflows from lead capture to retention. Demonstrated experience with enterprise-level marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua). Strong analytical skills with proven experience presenting channel performance, strategy, and data-driven insights to leadership. Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating email with oth ...
