We are seeking an experienced Manager, Tax, to join our New York City office in a hybrid capacity. This role is ideal for a collaborative, client-facing tax professional who thrives in a team-oriented environment and brings strong technical expertise. The Manager, Tax is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while providing high-quality tax planning, advisory, and compliance services to clients. This role includes preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, supervising and mentoring staff, managing engagements, and serving as a key point of contact for clients.
Key Objectives:
- Be proficient in the preparation and review of a wide variety of tax returns, including but not limited to high wealth individuals, fiduciary, corporate, partnerships, and multistate filings
- Demonstrate competency across all phases of tax services, including tax planning, compliance, preparation, review, and research
- Apply strong technical knowledge of accounting and reporting standards when researching, completing, and reviewing complex tax matters
- Identify tax risk management issues and propose practical solutions through research and collaboration with engagement Partners
- Review tax procedures and financial statements with minimal supervision
- Monitor tasks assigned to team members to ensure questions are addressed, communication is clear, and work is completed accurately and on a timely basis
- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day engagement workflow, including planning, execution, and wrap-up
- Communicate client issues, deadlines, and engagement status to Partners to ensure timeliness and quality of service
- Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff, fostering professional development and collaboration
- Serve as a primary client interface, building and maintaining strong client relationships
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Required)
- CPA license (Required)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a public accounting / CPA firm (required)
- Experience using CCH Axcess Tax, tax research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 9:00am – 5:30pm - Hybrid with increased hours for busy seasons
Ability to commute/relocate: New York City office: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. We offer flexibility in managing your schedule to maintain a healthy work-life balance while meeting business needs.
