Job Description

About Our Company Built on over four decades of pioneering research at Princeton University, our platform represents the leading edge of innovation in freight and transportation planning. We help customers unlock double-digit revenue gains and drive smarter, data-driven operations at scale. With the recent close of our Series C funding round led by Koch Disruptive Technologies, we’re entering an exciting new phase of growth. Today, Optimal Dynamics is a high-growth company of ~70 employees, backed by top-tier investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, The Westly Group, Activate Capital, and Koch. We're on a mission to redefine the way logistics decisions are made—and we’re just getting started. About Our Team We are a team of bright, kind, and solution-oriented people focused on creating value for our customers. We can solve problems individually, but understand that the best solutions are found when the team brainstorms ideas together. We are excited about balancing the need to deploy new solutions quickly and designing solutions that are secured, reliable, maintainable, and scalable for the long run. About the Role Our Sr. Platform Solutions Engineer (SPSE) plays a critical role in both deploying the Optimal Dynamics platform and sustaining success for existing customers. The role focuses on translating solution designs into data-driven configurations, working within customer data environments, and validating optimization model outputs against expected operational behaviors. By analyzing data flows and tuning model parameters, the SPSE ensures that model recommendations perform as expected and create measurable value in live operations. The SPSE also serves as an escalation point for complex technical issues, often requiring deep analysis of model logic, input data, and solutioning approaches. Our SPSE acts as a technical bridge between Solutions Engineering, Product, and our customers. Partnering functional and technical knowledge to drive seamless implementations and long-term value. Key Responsibilities Data Engineering System Integration Design and implement reliable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load transportation data from diverse customer sources Integrate the Optimal Dynamics platform with customer systems using APIs, SFTP, flat files, and direct database connections Ensure data quality, completeness, and alignment with platform requirements and optimization needs Troubleshoot data or integration issues quickly and effectively in coordination with internal and customer teams Model Calibration Technical Configuration Calibrate optimization and simulation models to reflect real-world operational constraints and customer objectives Collaborate with Solutions Engineers to translate solution design documents into and executable platform configurations Iterate on model parameters and technical settings based on output validation, performance metrics, and user feedback Validate that optimization recommendations align with expected outcomes and customer business rules Project Collaboration Business Alignment Partner with Solutions Engineers to align data and model configurations with solution intent as a core technical lead on projects Participate in project planning, milestone tracking, and customer meetings, ensuring transparency and alignment Provide clear documentation of data flows, configurations, and technical decisions to support knowledge transfer and scaling Support feedback loops between Customer Success, Product, Engineering teams Post-Deployment Monitoring Optimization Monitor system performance and model behavior during and after deployment to ensure solution effectiveness Identify calibration or integration updates based on operational feedback and observed data patterns Provide technical support to transitioned customers, including troubleshooting issues and resolving support tickets in coordination with the Customer Support team Serve as an escalation point for c ...
