The Financial Reporting Manager will play a critical role in supporting StubHub's accounting, financial reporting and internal control processes. Reporting directly to the Senior Director - SEC Financial Reporting, this individual will be responsible for analyzing diverse and complex accounting topics, preparation of various financial reports, take part in the month end financial close process, lead ad-hoc accounting transformation projects as well as assist internal control team in developing policies and control documentation. This role will interact closely with cross functional teams outside of accounting, including Strategic Finance, Engineering, Operations, FinTech, Tax and Treasury as well as external auditor.
Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – New York, NY
What You'll Do
Manage the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual SEC reports (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and other filings as required).
Coordinate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial reporting deliverables.
Review financial statements, footnotes, and MDA sections for compliance with SEC and GAAP standards.
Oversee XBRL tagging and review of all public filings.
Research complex technical accounting topics, prepare written technical memo that document the issue, US GAAP guidance and conclusions in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner
Support the finance organization in day-to-day activities, projects, workflow process improvements, and other ad-hoc requests
Liaison with internal controls team to build a SOX control environment, assist in the development of policies and control documentation
Stay current on, research and document new accounting rules that will impact the company; research and support the company's position on various accounting matters; lead the implementation of new accounting stands in accounting/finance processes and assess disclosure requirements
What You've Done
5+ years of relevant work experience with global SEC-compliant organization or as an auditor or advisor at a Big 4 public accounting firm
Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field (Master of Accounting a plus)
Active CPA certification required
Throughout understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Experience with technical accounting research and technical memo writing including researching and documenting disclosure guidance and the accounting treatment of complex transactions
Deep knowledge of accounting process including financial statements preparation, month end close and internal control
Independent worker demonstrating the initiative to present new ideas and work dedicatedly to deliver assigned tasks
Ability to pivot to new priorities in a fast-paced environment that are dedicated by hard deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and hands-on exposure to accounting systems; experience with NetSuite and Workiva WDesk a plus
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional peers and other members of management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
