Staff UX Researcher
As a member of the Product Experience team you will help us redefine what’s possible with the way the world experiences the internet. You will influence and shape user empathy across our organization. As a Staff UX Researcher, you will shape the user research strategy for Fastly’s products. You possess strong research skills and have a vetted toolkit of research methodologies. You will be an advocate for our customers throughout the development process and will influence and shape user empathy across our organization.
What You'll Do:
You’ll plan and conduct user research, including usability testing, contextual interviews, participatory design, foundational studies, task and funnel analysis, and surveys
You’ll partner with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Client Services to identify and ideate on research approaches to resolve complex questions
You’ll define a user research strategy, defining methodologies and approaches to apply to the design and launch of new products
You’ll conduct user research studies utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods, including data collection, analysis and building an action plan based on insights
You’ll distill and present user-centered and data-driven insights across the organization, influencing product development and highlighting the business value of potential solutions
You’ll establish a centralized research repository to house findings
You will mentor Product Designers and Product Managers, guiding them through a range of research activities
What We're Looking For:
You have 7+ years work experience conducting user research and a portfolio demonstrating your involvement in shipping products
You have a track record of planning and executing strategic and tactical research, leading workshops, interviews, usability testing, surveys, and producing sharable insights
You have hands-on experience analyzing data and using analytic software products and have an understanding of statistical concepts and behavioral analysis
You have a proven track record influencing product direction and strategy with insights discovered through your research
You have excellent project management, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
You are curious about technology and can dive into complex or unfamiliar topics
You have an advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Information Science, or related field
You have worked in the enterprise SaaS industry
We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:
Experience working with a cloud platform provider is a plus
Deep knowledge of best practices for UX design principles
Experience using Looker Studio or Pendo
Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours.
