About the Team
Roku’s Global Content Distribution team sources, negotiates, and closes distribution deals with OTT content providers in all international markets for carriage on the Roku platform .
The
Director, Content Distribution - Germany (Fixed Term)
will be responsible
building the
most exciting and widely appealing
range of
content
services
for Roku consumers in Germany – a vibrant, growing OTT market .
They
will
develop and sustain
relationships with local content partners ,
negotiate agreements
within the framework set by the Roku Global Content Distribution
team
and
make
recommendations
to
Roku to
strengthen
the
German content strategy
About the role
The
Director, Content Distribution - Germany (Fixed Term)
will
be
a Roku brand representative in
the
Germany media industry – pitching, inspiring,
and developing
Roku’s position in the market so
that
Roku can become an integral part of the local media landscape and
a family in Berlin or Munich can enjoy the best and widest selection of content for their Friday night entertainment.
What you will be doing
Build and maintain a best-in-class portfolio of content partners on the Roku platform in Germany with a focus on local content providers
Identify opportunities to grow the Roku Platform with local streaming services and engage distribution teams as potential Roku platform partners
Identify potential to enhance existing partnerships and agreements with partners; make recommendations for key partners at contract expiration
Where required negotiate (or re-negotiate) commercial terms under a set framework established by Roku and in coordination with Roku’s Legal team and Director of Content Distribution (Europe)
Manage the day-to-day relationship with major local partners. Articulate the priorities and needs of local partners while supporting global Roku teams as they prioritize resources and address and resolve challenges and issues as they arise
Track streaming consumption on Roku for all major content partners; identify opportunities for growth in consumption and monetization
Support new business development activities for the German speaking region, including improvement of UI/ UX with new features, etc
Advise on strategy documents, updates and reports to describe developments in the media landscape in Germany and the implications for Roku’s business
Represent Roku to the local media sector and participate in industry events
We're excited if you have
5+ years’ experience in content acquisition or partnerships for a major media company or distribution platform with a strong network in the local and international media/ streaming business (including key decision makers)
A track record of closing high profile and high value commercial agreements
Strong negotiation skills with a good sense of dependencies between business partners
Familiarity with app distribution agreements and streaming business models (including SVOD, TVOD/EST and AVOD) and a solid understanding of the Connected TV OS market
Native (or equivalent) German language and mastery of verbal and written communication skills including the ability to cultivate in ... (truncated, view full listing at source)
