ABOUT THE TEAM Anduril's Manufacturing Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Tooling Engineer to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineering department develops and implements robust manufacturing processes and tooling solutions to ensure Anduril's defense products are produced efficiently, reliably, and at scale at Anduril. As Manufacturing Tooling Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain innovative tooling systems that enhance our manufacturing capabilities and production efficiency. The right person for this role has strong mechanical design skills, expertise in CAD software, experience with tool fabrication processes, and knowledge of manufacturing systems integration. WHAT YOU'LL DO Build things that build things Design and develop custom tooling, fixtures, and jigs to support manufacturing operations across multiple product lines Design integrated end of arm tooling for manufacturing operations that demand high quality and repeatability Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications for tool fabrication using advanced CAD software Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues in production environments to minimize downtime Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production staff to integrate tooling solutions with manufacturing systems Conduct failure analysis on tooling and implement design improvements to enhance performance and durability. Develop and release PM procedures. Manage tooling budgets, vendor relationships, and outside fabrication of specialized tooling Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs and improving manufacturing throughput Ensure all tooling designs comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field 5+ years of experience in manufacturing tooling design and implementation Expert capability with (at least one) 3D CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, Inventor, or CATIA) Demonstrated experience with tooling design for precision manufacturing processes Knowledge of machining processes, materials properties, and manufacturing methods Expert in GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in defense, aerospace, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments Knowledge of automation systems and integration with tooling solutions Experience with tool lifecycle management and maintenance planning Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies Background in rapid prototyping and iterative design Active US DoD Secret Clearance US Salary Range $129,000 $171,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
