Our European operations are expanding rapidly under the MiCA regulatory framework, and we are seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our licensed MiCA entity’s operations in the EEA. About the Role As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for our MiCA-regulated entity in the European Economic Area (EEA), you will oversee all operational aspects of the business, aligning daily execution with strategic objectives, driving regulatory compliance, and enhancing operational performance. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong cross-functional coordination, regulatory fluency, and a proactive approach to risk and performance management. What You’ll Be Doing Executive Operations Strategy Lead day-to-day business operations of the MiCA-licensed entity, aligning with the long-term vision of OKX in Europe. Drive operational excellence by implementing scalable processes, enhancing internal systems, and delivering strategic initiatives. Track and report on key operational KPIs, including customer satisfaction, cost efficiency, and risk management. Support the CEO of Europe and partner with global and regional leadership teams on strategic planning and execution Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Embed MiCA regulatory standards into operational workflows and act as the 1st line of defense. Maintain and manage risk registers, conduct incident reviews, and ensure proper documentation. Oversee internal governance processes to ensure transparency and accountability. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to prepare for regulatory audits and maintain open communication with regulators. Vendor Outsourcing Management Oversee third-party vendors and partners, ensuring performance, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Lead vendor selection, due diligence, and service level agreement (SLA) monitoring in collaboration with legal and compliance teams. Performance Metrics Monitoring Establish and monitor KPIs to drive operational accountability and continuous improvement. Lead reporting efforts on operational and risk performance for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Product Strategy Localization Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and implement product localization efforts in line with EEA market requirements. Ensure operational readiness for new product launches and regulatory reviews. Cross-functional Collaboration Partner closely with product, engineering, compliance, legal, marketing, and customer operations teams. Foster a culture of collaboration and transparency across global teams to support OKX’s growth in the region. What We Look for in You Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in operational leadership roles within regulated financial services or fintech environments Direct experience acting as the 1st line of defense in a licensed financial institution.
