About the Opportunity Contentful is experiencing rapid growth, and we're on the lookout for a driven Senior Platform Engineer to join our Core DataTeam. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the heart of our data operations, collaborating with developers and internal stakeholders to create cutting-edge tools for data customers while maintaining a highly adaptable platform. What to expect? Software Development Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable and maintainable software solutions for our data platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Data Orchestration Architect and implement systems for efficient data orchestration, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Work closely with the Platform Engineers to integrate new technologies and tools into the data platform ecosystem. Performance Optimization Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the data platform, ensuring optimal data processing and access speed. Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues. Problem-Solving Daily challenges related to data management, performance optimization, and security. Responsibility Substantial impact on the stability and performance of Contentful's Data Platform. What you need to be successful? You have 5+ years of Engineering experience You have proficiency in cloud technologies (AWS preferred) You have proficient coding skills in Python, (Golang TypeScript are a plus) You are proficient with Infrastructure as Code, Terraform (Terragrunt is a plus) You are proficient in CI/CD tools, setting up complex workflows with a focus on CircleCI You have knowledge of Kubernetes Docker Helm You are experienced with Git You have experience with streaming services Desirable skills: You are familiar with Apache Airflow and/ or AWS Redshift You possess strong skills in communication, problem-solving, collaboration, diversity appreciation, and full professional English proficiency, enabling effective and inclusive interactions in diverse contexts.
