Adaptyv is building an automated lab thats let AI agents run biology experiments.
We're entering the era of agentic science where AI models can now design novel proteins, propose hypotheses, and iterate on experimental results. But they can't run the experiments themselves - that's still a manual, months-long process. We're building the infrastructure that gives AI agents access to the physical world.
Today, over 50 companies are already running their wet lab experiments on Adaptyv, ranging from some of the biggest biopharmas, to frontier AI labs to dozens of techbio startups.
Our automated lab is powered by a deep software + hardware stack: lab instruments worth millions of USD reverse-engineered into API-controllable hardware, dozens of devices orchestrated through complex workflows, full observability on everything that happens in the lab, processing pipelines for messy physical-world data, and AI systems that troubleshoot production results and accelerate assay development.
We’re growing rapidly and are hiring for talented people to scale and support the massive demand for AI-driven wet lab experimentation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll be the person who makes sure the lab and office actually work. That means everything from ensuring we never run out of critical reagents, to coordinating equipment repairs, to organizing team events — whatever it takes to keep a fast-growing team operating smoothly.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You'll be the go-to person for anything operational: procurement, shipping, equipment, workspace, and day-to-day logistics. You'll work closely with the biology team and founders, and you'll have a direct impact on how fast and reliably we can run experiments.
Responsibilities
- Manage procurement and inventory of lab consumables, reagents, and office supplies — ensuring we have what we need without overstocking.
- Coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments: customer samples, equipment, reagents. Handle communication with shipping partners and ensure compliance with packaging and transport requirements.
- Own the lab equipment lifecycle: sourcing, purchasing, installation, maintenance scheduling, troubleshooting, and vendor relationships.
- Keep the lab organized, safe, and efficient. Maintain inventory of chemicals, proteins, biological samples, and consumables.
- Manage office operations and shared spaces — ordering supplies, organizing workstations, coordinating workspace improvements.
- Support hands-on lab work as needed: receiving deliveries, preparing targets and reagents (reconstitution, buffer exchange, aliquoting), and tracking materials in LabOS.
- Organize internal team events, offsites, and company gatherings — logistics, venues, scheduling.
- Support founders with operational and administrative tasks: customer coordination, supplier research, contract and insurance coordination.
- Help plan and set up new lab and office spaces as we scale.
What we're looking for
- Experience in lab operations, lab management, or a similar hands-on operational role — ideally in a biotech, life sciences, or research environment.
- Highly organized and reliable. You track dozens of things at once and nothing falls through the cracks.
- Comfortable getting your hands dirty — this is not a purely administrative role. You'll prep reagents, unpack deliveries, and reorganize storage when needed.
- Proactive problem-solver. You notice when something is about to run out or break before it becomes a problem.
- Strong communicator who can coordinate across vendors, shipping partners, scientists, and leadership.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced startup where priorities shift and you need to figure things out on your own.
- Based in Lausanne or willing to relocate. This role requires daily on-site presence.
