Software Engineer II - Android Department: Engineering Team: Android Location: Bangalore, India Type: Full-Time **About the Role** Android Engineer will join the Rider Foundations team in Bangalore, which functions as an extension of the Global Rider Foundations team. The team is responsible for enhancing the Rider App by developing efficient and scalable foundational components, with a focus on product observability, consistency, and collaboration with regional and global teams. This role is critical in delivering seamless rider experiences, improving app performance, and supporting foundational projects. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** \-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ---- 1. Collaborate and work within a team with other engineers, Product Managers, Designers and others to build towards the roadmap. 2. Write high quality code and uphold standards for code quality and testing coverage. 3. Contribute to engineering operational areas on quality, monitoring, and on-call practices. 4. You'll be very close to business concerns, working alongside Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists and Operations team, to understand what's most important, and translating that to systems, designs, and code that best solves for today, as well as plans for tomorrow 5. You will build user-facing products - the work you do will impact all earners in the Uber ecosystem. You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality products with fast iterations. \-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. 3+ years of working experience in Android development. 2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience. 3. Proficient in common algorithms and data structure fundamentals. 4. Deep understanding of Android fundamentals, UI rendering, and performance optimization. 5. Strong Communication and experience in working with cross-functional roles such as product managers and product designers, capable of translating business and product requirements into software engineering designs, and breaking down tasks for execution. \-\-\
