We are looking to hire an exceptional Public Policy Advisor to support Discord’s work with governments and policymakers in Australia, Japan and across the Asia Pacific region. As an Advisor, you’ll have the opportunity to design and lead engagement strategies to shape how Discord is perceived by stakeholders in key markets in APAC, initially including Australia and Japan. You’ll report to the Head of Asia Pacific Public Policy and collaborate broadly with Discord’s public policy, legal, trust & safety, communications and business teams. What you'll be doing Build understanding of Discord amongst policymakers and stakeholders. Advocate for Discord’s positions on key legislative and regulatory initiatives that will impact our users and business. Engage in coalitions with peer companies. Design and execute initiatives that demonstrate Discord’s value to the game developer community. Partner cross-functionally with the public policy, legal, trust & safety, communications and business teams What you should have 10+ years experience in government, public policy and/or government affairs. Deep insight into policymaking processes. Ability to execute multi-year strategic public affairs programs. Work experience in technology public policy issues and initiatives, including in online safety, privacy and related areas. Ability to translate complex information into clear narratives for non-technical audiences. Strong relationship building skills. Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
