Staff Performance Engineer

We are looking for Performance Engineers to push the boundaries of big data query performance. You will benchmark, profile, and optimize Impala, Hive, and Spark to set industry-leading standards in analytic performance. As a Staff Performance Engineer you will: Build and run performance benchmarks at scale (1000+ nodes). Profile query engines using flame graphs, perf, and low-level debugging tools. Optimize execution engines, storage formats, and resource usage. Collaborate with developers to deliver performance-critical improvements. Publish performance best practices and competitive benchmarks. We are excited if you have (Required Experience): Strong background in systems engineering and distributed systems. C++, Java, or Scala expertise. Deep knowledge of CPU architecture, memory, networking, and I/O. Hands-on experience with query engines (Impala, Hive, Spark). You may also have (Preferred Experience): Experience benchmarking on cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP). Publications or contributions to performance engineering.
