SumoLogic is seeking a strong Software Engineer, backend, to join our Cloud SIEM team. As a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our cutting-edge cloud-based SIEM solutions. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable cloud services Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of services Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs Experience with CI and on-call production support Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members Mentor junior engineers and help them grow their technical skills Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our products remain cutting-edge Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 5-8 years of industry experience with a proven track record of ownership Experience with Scala (or another JVM language) and Kafka in production environments Experience in multi-threaded programming and globally distributed systems (preferably in AWS) Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, solve problems and adapt to new technologies Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices Occasional on-call availability.
