Flight Termination System Responsible Engineer

Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. Working directly with the Department of Defense, Hermeus delivers capabilities that will ensure that our nation, and our allies, maintain an asymmetric advantage over any and all potential adversaries. Hermeus is seeking Flight Termination System RE. The Flight Termination System (FTS) Responsible Engineer owns the design, integration, testing, and certification of the vehicle’s flight termination hardware and software. This role is highly interdisciplinary requiring strong fundamentals across mechanical and electrical disciplines along with a basic understanding of aerodynamics and ability to learn and understand range safety requirements. The FTS RE leads coordination with regulatory authorities, and manages interface control with avionics and ground systems and is accountable for system reliability, documentation, and readiness through flight, serving as the technical authority for all FTS matters.
