Description As a Senior Product Designer at Datavant, you will lead design for a set of complex, data-intensive product areas where deeply understanding users matters as much as the interfaces we build. You will frame ambiguous problems, conduct generative and evaluative research, develop user personas, and map workflows to uncover insights and inform design direction. This is a hands-on, generalist role working closely with product managers, engineers, and business partners to deliver meaningful, high-quality experiences in the healthcare data space. You will own the design process end-to-end — from discovery and research through execution and iteration. Responsibilities The following duties include, but are not limited to... Conduct brainstorming or whiteboarding sessions with stakeholders Measure the impact of the user experience from early designs to mature products Lead the creation of user flow, journey map, service blueprints, and other artifacts that help clarify the problem and solution Lead generative and evaluative user research, including developing user personas, journey maps, and workflow analyses that uncover insights and inform design decisions Design and prototype information architecture (IA) solutions and designs Manage multiple projects across a range of applications and features Help build the design culture at Datavant Qualifications Required Minimum 7 years of experience as a product designer Bachelor or Master's degree in Human Factors, User Experience Design, HCI, Information Science, or related discipline Strong skills in interaction design, user experience Fluency in Figma or similar prototyping tools, with ability to communicate design decisions clearly across cross-functional teams Extensive experience in user-centered design Excellent conceptual, analytical and, problem solving skills Excellent written and oral communications skills Online or PDF portfolio Familiarity with working in agile teams Experience leading user research (generative and evaluative), building user personas, and mapping complex workflows to uncover insights and inform design decisions Preferred Experience in full lifecycle product design (from discovery to delivery) Knowledge of the pharma and life sciences industry or healthcare Experience in creating high-fidelity mockups using a design system Experience conducting generative and evaluative user research, including building personas and mapping complex workflows to inform design decisions Experience in user research and conducting small focus groups Familiarity with AI and LLM-powered products; understands how AI models work at a level that informs thoughtful, responsible design decisions Experience using AI tools within the design process — including for prototyping, research synthesis, ideation, or workflow automation Perks of joining Datavant in Barcelona 25 vacation days Daily in-office lunch stipend (and a fully stocked kitchen) Hybrid work model: 2 days/ week in our office in Gracia Commitment to professional development opportunities Employee-led initiatives including annual company-wide innovation day DEI resource groups Comprehensive private health coverage w/ out-of-network reimbursements options Flexible remuneration with Cobee (Restaurant, Transportation ...
