What You’ll Do
Develop system requirements and test campaigns for Anduril’s wide range of airbreathing turbine applications.
Design test campaigns and development efforts to satisfy program feature requirements.
Interface with program and customer demands to deliver high quality propulsion products.
Work with engine control systems including FADEC’s, ECU’s, Starter-Generators and related hardware.
Work with actuators, sensors, connectors and architecture of engine control systems.
Develop test stands, instrumentation packages and equipment to support engine test and integration.
Test, diagnose, and analyze engine data on test stands, on test expeditions, and in flight test.
Work on the coolest engines in the aviation business.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
5+ years relevant engineering experience in gas turbine / aerospace / defense / automotive / passenger car / commercial vehicle industry.
Strong understanding, and intuition for the physics of basic propulsion systems, motion control systems, and heat transfer.
Familiarity with engines, engine controls, and/or testing of engines or powertrain components.
Familiarity with verification test plan writing and execution, MIL standards, and feature development
Ability to collaborate well with other electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers.
Practical experience with diagnostics monitoring, failure detection and data analysis.
Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
Travel time up to 25%
Desired Qualifications
Masters or advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar.
Ability to assist with part selection, board design, and product design efforts.
Ability to assist with designing simple mechanical parts (CAD). Knowledge of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.) preferred.
Experience in procuring development parts and working in a fabrication environment
Mechatronics experience; sensor selection, setup of data acquisition systems, assemble wire harnesses and debug/troubleshoot systems.
Experience with CANape or similar CAN interface tool.
Experience in the design and implementation of automotive or aviation control electronics.
Prior experience developing embedded systems for automotive or aviation powertrain controls is a plus.
