Senior Software engineer (Furnishing Platform)

You will partner closely with our Product, Compliance, Servicing, and Credit teams to design robust reporting systems. It’s going to be an amazing ride!</p> <h3><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></h3> <ul> <li><strong>Own and deliver strategic outcomes</strong>: Drive the definition and delivery of quarterly and long-term goals, ensuring your team’s work ladders up to company-wide objectives. Lead engineers through ambiguity and open-ended problems, providing clarity and direction.</li> <li><strong>Shape architecture and technical strategy</strong>: Influence the design of backend systems across  multiple teams. Ensure that solutions are scalable, extensible, and aligned with broader engineering standards.</li> <li><strong>Collaborate cross-functionally</strong>: Partner with product, analytics, and design to define solutions. Anticipate risks, articulate trade-offs, and ensure technical decisions support long-term product and business needs.</li> <li><strong>Champion operational excellence</strong>: Ensure high availability and reliability of  services by establishing strong monitoring, alerting, and recovery practices. Drive improvements that reduce system fragility and operational burden.</li> <li><strong>Mentor and grow talent</strong>: Guide engineers within and beyond your team through mentorship, code/design reviews, and technical leadership. Set high standards for engineering practices and foster a culture of ownership and continuous learning.</li> <li><strong>Scale impact beyond your team</strong>: Author technical proposals, share best practices via documentation and tech talks, and advocate for improvements that raise the bar for the broader data engineering community.</li> <li><strong>On-Call Rotation</strong> - There would be an on-call rotation for this role as a requirement</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What We Look For</strong></h3> <ul> <li><strong>Deep technical expertise</strong>: 4+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed backend systems, with strong proficiency in languages like Kotlin (or Python as a plus)</li> <li><strong>Systems at scale</strong>: Proven track record of delivering high-volume, highly available systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes (Airflow, Spark, as a plus).</li> <li><strong>Architectural leadership</strong>: Experience defining technical strategies for complex, cross-team initiatives.
