We build best-in-class platforms for power users who expect high-performance, seamless web and desktop experiences, while pushing the boundaries of financial innovation. Our scope includes expanding into new asset types, account structures, and global markets while integrating cutting-edge technologies like AI.</p> <p>As an Engineering Manager, you’ll drive the design and development of modular, scalable web-based trading application. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and data science, mentor engineers, and build a high-performing team. This hands-on role requires strong technical leadership, a passion for developing people, and sharp product judgment.<br><br>This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person attendance expected at least 4 days per week. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.</p> <p>What you’ll do</p> <ul> <li>Lead a team focused on building Legend’s next-generation trading experiences for web and desktop</li> <li>Set and communicate a clear technical direction aligned with product strategy, holding a high bar for quality, performance, and maintainability as the product scales.</li> <li>Partner cross-functionally with design, product, AI, and infrastructure teams to enhance the core product experience and enable expansion across new asset types, account structures, and geographies.</li> <li>Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment where engineers across experience levels can do their best work, grow in their careers, and feel ownership over both technical outcomes and product impact.</li> <li>Be a thoughtful technical leader within the team, aiding in diligent architectural decisions and fostering a culture of high-quality code and engineering processes.</li> </ul> <p>What you bring</p> <ul> <li>At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience.</li> <li>At least 2 years of engineering management experience leading product-focused engineering teams.</li> <li>Strong foundation in modern web engineering, with deep experience in technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.</li> <li>Deep understanding of web architecture and best practices for building modular, scalable systems within large, evolving codebases.</li> <li>Proven ability to grow engineers across levels, through mentorship, feedback, and clear expectations that raise technical rigor and ownership.</li> <li>An execution-focused mindset with a strong passion for building and leading product-focused teams, capable of navigating ambiguity and delivering results.</li> </ul> <p data-start="58" data-end="200">Leadership Expectations<strong data-start="58" data-end="85"><br></strong><br data-start="85" data-end ...
