Job Description
Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.
At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device.
We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.
A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.
As a Data Center Asset Management Analyst, you are the custodian of our physical foundation. You will ensure that every piece of hardware, from the moment it’s ordered to the day it’s decommissioned, is tracked with 100% accuracy. Your work provides the data integrity required for Roblox to scale reliably, stay compliant, and make smart financial decisions.
You will:
Facilitate the end-to-end journey of hardware (servers, storage, network gear, racks). You’ll track and document data center asset receipts, moves, adds, changes, and decommissioning.
Manage and maintain the metadata, lineage, and lifecycle data integrity of our physical assets. You’ll ensure these are accurate and consistent across systems.
Conduct regular audits and reconciliations between physical inventory and system records. You don’t just find discrepancies, you fix the root cause.
Create and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries to ensure everyone at Roblox is speaking the same "asset language". You’ll establish and maintain data governance standards, making it easy for business users to discover the data they need by documenting definitions, sources, and business rules.
Partner with Software Engineers to automate data collection and help cross-functional teams adopt best practices for data management.
Design dashboards and reports that give leadership visibility into asset status, hardware aging, and inventory accuracy.
You have:
3–5+ years in data center asset management, infrastructure operations, or complex inventory management.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics
Experience working with large-scale asset management systems or CMDB platforms.
You are a "spreadsheet power-user" and have a solid grasp of SQL (or a strong desire to use it) to query datasets and build dashboards.
You understand that in infrastructure, a single misplaced serial number can lead to a million-dollar headache. You have excellent organizational and analytical skills.
You can move seamlessly between talking hardware with Operations, depreciation with Accounting, and data standards with Software Engineering.
