About this role
As the People Business Partner, you will be responsible for driving Waymark’s people strategy and serving as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to managers and leaders across the organization. You will own the execution of key People initiatives, including employee engagement action plans, performance management cycles, talent development programs, and workforce planning, ensuring alignment with our mission and values. Reporting to the VP, Head of People, you will partner closely with the People team to ensure the structures and processes we develop support a rapidly scaling organization. You will lead critical projects in compensation, rewards, employee engagement and total retention, ensuring Waymark remains competitive and equitable in its employee value proposition.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic People Partnership: Serve as a dedicated thought partner and strategic advisor to leadership, driving organizational design, talent development, and proactive team performance management.
Culture Engagement Champion: Lead high-impact employee engagement strategies, translating survey data into concrete initiatives that champion a culture of belonging, feedback, high performance, and retention.
End-to-End Talent Architect: Lead and guide managers through core talent processes, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and compensation programs (merit, promotion, and salary structure updates).
Expert Coaching Employee Relations: Provide essential coaching to managers on complex employee relations issues, reasonable accommodation requests, and offboarding, ensuring compliance, fairness, and empathy.
Data-Driven Process Optimization: Utilize data and people analytics to continuously identify and implement improvements that enhance the overall employee experience and operational efficiency of the People function.
Projects: Lead various other People team projects and initiatives. Partner with VP, and Head of people to administer compensation programs such as merit/promotion process, annual incentive plans, evaluation of salary structures, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of progressive HR experience including 3+ years as a strategic Business Partner.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Deep understanding of employment-related laws and regulations.
Required industry experience includes healthcare; value-based care is preferred, and technology experience is a plus.
Proven track record and desire for process improvement.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous compensation administration experience strongly preferred
Combination of start up and established organization experience preferred
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR Certification preferred
Salary Range
US Employees in San Francisco/Bay Area, New York City - $122,500 - $150,000
