Intro description: Legalist is a tech-enabled alternative asset manager that uses proprietary data-driven origination to invest in uncorrelated legal and government-payment assets. Founded out of Y Combinator in 2016, Legalist manages over $1.7 billion for endowments, foundations, and family offices. Legalist is seeking a motivated Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team. This is a junior, high-impact role focused on outbound prospecting and pipeline generation. The ideal candidate is comfortable with cold outreach and thrives in a quota-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting through cold calls, emails, and other channels Identify and engage key decision-makers and stakeholders Generate and qualify new business opportunities Build and maintain targeted lead lists using available tools and research methods Consistently meet or exceed activity and pipeline generation quotas Track outreach efforts and maintain accurate records in CRM systems Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to refine messaging and targeting strategies Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in a sales, business development, or SDR role Demonstrated experience with cold calling and outbound prospecting Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas Ability to clearly articulate past performance metrics (e.g., meetings booked, pipeline generated, conversion rates) Strong research skills and ability to independently build lead lists Ability to independently develop and execute strategies for building lead lists and leveraging available tools and channels to effectively reach and engage key stakeholders Excellent communication skills and a resilient, self-starter mindset
