The Opportunity The Monetization Team powers Postman pricing packaging, and scales its business. We build and operate mission-critical billing systems that handle: Payments renewals Subscription lifecycle Sales, tax compliance Revenue systems Post Purchase product onboarding As Postman grows, we are evolving towards a config-driven, highly scalable platform that supports both self-serve and sales-led motions globally. We’re looking for a Senior Engineer who can lead the development of this platform driving both technical excellence and product innovation . What You'll Do Build Scale Core Billing Systems - Design and enhance systems for plans, add-ons, pricing, and packaging using a config-driven approach. Drive Platform Evolution - Develop backend systems capable of seamlessly integrating with multiple payment providers. Improve Reliability Performance - Optimize APIs, enhance scalability, and improve system resilience. Expand Global Monetization Capabilities - Multi-region multi-currency support - Tax integrations across geographies - New payment methods Enable Flexible Pricing Sales Workflows - Build systems for discounts, credits, custom pricing, and admin controls. Collaborate Cross-Functionally - Partner with Product, Design, Support, Security, and Platform teams to deliver impactful solutions. Raise the Engineering Bar - Conduct code reviews, define best practices, mentor engineers, and influence architecture decisions. About You 6+ years of experience building scalable, distributed systems Strong proficiency in: Java/JavaScript / TypeScript / Node.js MySQL, Redis Deep expertise in: Database design, query optimization, indexing, caching System design and performance at scale Hands-on experience with: AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines Monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, New Relic) Proven track record of: Building products/services from scratch Leading complex technical initiatives Strong collaboration skills, comfortable working with and challenging PMs, EMs, and stakeholders (Bonus) Good understanding of Monetization platforms (Payments, Subscriptions, Taxes, Revenue recognition, Sales Driven purchase contracts, and custom subscriptions) What Else?
