ABOUT THE ROLE Freshpaint relies on data every day to guide product and growth decisions. As we scale, we’re investing in the foundational systems that will support that usage at the next level — making our data unified, scalable, and built to power experimentation and advanced analytics across the company. We’re looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to architect that foundation. This is not a reporting role. It’s a high-impact systems role at the intersection of Product, Engineering, GTM, RevOps, and Customer Success, where you will design and own the unified data model that drives strategic decisions and operational workflows. Reporting to the Head of Data, you will shape how data is modeled, governed, and activated across Freshpaint. You’ll build scalable dbt models in Snowflake, strengthen data quality and governance, and create the analytics layer that enables teams to move faster with confidence. Your work will reduce engineering overhead, eliminate metric fragmentation, increase trust in decision-making, and position Freshpaint to leverage advanced analytics as we grow. WHY THIS ROLE IS EXCITING - Architect the core data systems that will support Freshpaint’s next stage of growth. - Design the unified data model that becomes the backbone of product, revenue, and operational decisions. - Move beyond reactive reporting and build scalable analytics solutions. - Partner closely with Product and Engineering to influence how data is captured, modeled, and activated. - Operate with autonomy and real ownership in a role that directly shapes company direction. WHAT YOU’LL DO ARCHITECT THE UNIFIED DATA MODEL - Design and develop scalable, production-grade dbt models in Snowflake that serve as the single source of truth across the company. - Build analytics-ready datasets that eliminate fragmented metric definitions and align teams around consistent KPIs. - Establish modeling standards and conventions that scale as the company grows. - Optimize SQL and warehouse performance to balance reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency. - Expand and manage ingestion pipelines (Fivetran and others) to support new strategic data sources. ENABLE EXPERIMENTATION & ADVANCED ANALYTICS - Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure reliable event instrumentation and clean upstream data. - Build experimentation-ready datasets that support product iteration and growth analysis. - Develop datasets that power predictive insights, behavioral signals, anomaly detection, and intelligent recommendations. - Help translate analytical outputs into workflows and product experiences that drive measurable impact.
