Our member firm is hiring for their offices based in Charlotte, NC! Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our firm. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing a wide variety of tax returns, supporting tax planning initiatives, and serving as a key point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate is technically strong, organized, and comfortable working in a collaborative, client-focused environment. Key Responsibilities - Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for: - Individuals (Form 1040) - Partnerships (Form 1065) - S Corporations (Form 1120-S) - C Corporations (Form 1120) - Trusts and estates (Form 1041) - Analyze financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure accurate tax reporting - Identify tax planning opportunities and assist in implementing strategies to minimize client tax liabilities - Conduct tax research and stay current on tax laws and regulations - Communicate directly with clients to request information, answer questions, and provide guidance - Review work prepared by junior staff and provide mentorship and training - Coordinate and manage multiple engagements and deadlines during peak tax seasons - Assist with IRS and state tax notices, audits, and correspondence - Support partners and managers with special projects and advisory services Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred) - CPA license or active pursuit of CPA required - 3–6+ years of public accounting tax experience - Experience with a variety of tax return types (individual, business, and fiduciary) - Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations - Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar) and Microsoft Excel - Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills - Strong communication and interpersonal skills This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration.
