Senior Product Manager The role / impact As a Senior Product Manager for Outbound Integrations, you will lead the strategy and lifecycle for a critical portfolio of external partnerships, including major ecommerce and payment platforms. Your work ensures that our subscribers experience seamless, frictionless accounting reconciliation, directly contributing to the growth of the Xero ecosystem. You will balance the commercial reality of external development costs against customer value, sequencing multiple API-driven integrations to reach general availability. By assessing ROI and managing relationships with global partners and third-party vendors, you will help drive the next phase of our subscriber growth strategy. The team / how they connect You will join the Outbound Integrations team, a global group of engineering and product specialists who connect in person at least twice a year to collaborate and align on strategy. While you will operate as a senior individual contributor, you will provide essential product leadership across squads and partner closely with stakeholders in the US, UK, and Australia. The team is currently working on / Initially, you will focus on - Executing and maintaining approximately 10 live integrations with partners like Etsy, Shopify, and Walmart Business. - Managing the technical and commercial backlog, including API reconciliations and resolving customer experience tickets. - Leading discovery and global consultation to define the future roadmap and sequence upcoming integration projects. - Utilizing AI tools such as Claude and Glean to assist in day-to-day workflows and delivery efficiency. Where and how you can work This role is based in New Zealand to ensure close alignment with our NZ-based teams and to provide the necessary time zone coverage for our US West Coast partners. We offer a flexible working environment with no absolute requirement to be in the office, though we have beautiful spaces available in key cities when you choose to use them. Here are some of the things we are looking for - You bring a deep understanding of how APIs operate and possess the mental framework to develop and lead an API-driven product strategy. - Your background includes experience launching or managing live platform products at scale, particularly within B2B SaaS, ecommerce, or financial services. - You possess strong commercial acumen, with the ability to assess return on investment and navigate complex data to make evidence-based trade-offs. - A collaborative mindset is essential, as you will be working with external development companies and global internal teams to design robust data flows. - You have a natural curiosity for emerging technology and a willingness to explore how AI tooling can enhance the developer and partner experience. - Clear communication skills are part of your toolkit, allowing you to translate complex technical insights into simple, scalable solutions for stakeholders.
