This position reports to the Controller. They would enjoy implementing process improvements, problem-solving, and collaborating with others to drive accounting and reporting compliance and excellence. The primary purpose of this position is to provide accurate and timely accounting and financial information while coordinating the daily operations of the finance team to ensure compliance with general accounting and reporting standards. The Accounting Manager partners with and supports team members across all functions of the Company. This position is based in our San Francisco office (downtown/SOMA near public transit) and follows an onsite work model, requiring in-office presence 5 days a week.</p> <p><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage general ledger accounts and related reconciliations, manage month-end close processes, and prepare financial, managerial, and compliance reporting.</li> <li>Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations for all GL accounts.</li> <li>Manage month-end close in NetSuite to ensure accurate and timely reporting.</li> <li>Supervise, manage, coach, and mentor the general ledger team.</li> <li>Prepare financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company policies and procedures.</li> <li>Work with management and team members to foster understanding of accounting workflows across all Company's functional areas (sales, operations, etc.).</li> <li>Ensure proper internal controls, including compliance with Company policies and procedures and all other statutory requirements.</li> <li>Assess current practices, policies, procedures, and make recommendations to improve internal controls and processes, ensuring the accuracy of accounting data.</li> <li>Streamline the month-end close and other accounting processes, reducing manual work and implementing AI to achieve some of the efficiencies.</li> <li>Analyze data on operational costs to support management decision-making processes.</li> <li>Assist with preparing activity reports, variance analyses, financial forecasts, and budgets—support management during the budget and forecasting processes.</li> <li>Collaborate with FP&A on budget preparation and budget vs actual variance analysis.</li> <li>Coordinate with outside auditors and tax professionals to provide needed information including managing the preparation of year-end audit and tax work papers.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years people management experience required.</li> <li>Big four public accounting experience plus industry experience preferred. </li> <li>CPA preferred, but not required.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.</li> <li>Proficiency in NetSuite, Airbase, Rippling.</li> <li>Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office S ...
