The role is based at DroneShield’s central Sydney headquarters. Overseas on-the-ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Netherlands, Denmark, Mexico and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries worldwide. About the role Droneshield is looking for an Assistant Accountant who will be a critical member of the finance and operations function. This role will focus on cost accounting, inventory controls, cycle counts, stocktakes, and inventory data integrity, ensuring that physical inventory aligns with system records and that inventory transactions are accurately recorded in the financial system. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance and Warehouse teams to maintain strong inventory controls. The position will report to the Senior Accountant, who will provide mentoring and development. Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Maintain and support the company’s inventory control processes within newly implemented ERP Support inventory team to schedule cycle counts and investigate discrepancies between physical stock and system records Assist in coordinating and executing periodic stocktakes across warehouse and operational locations Reconcile inventory, asset and related balances between the ERP system and the general ledger Investigate inventory variances and work with operations teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions Assist the Operations team to monitor and maintain inventory master data accuracy including item codes, units of measure, and locations Assist in the review and maintenance of inventory controls, procedures, and documentation Collaborate with warehouse and procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate inventory transactions Assist in addition, depreciation, retirement and physical count of fixed assets Assist with process improvements, system enhancements, and audit requirements relating to invent ...
