And it’s why our business strategy centers on making journalism so good that it’s worth paying for.&nbsp;</strong></p> </div> </div> </div> </div></div><p><strong></strong></p> <p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">Times Opinion is hiring a senior video journalist with a specialization in cinematography to film Opinion shows.</p> <p>This is a production heavy position that will be responsible for shooting, lighting and managing the technical aspects of filming at our headquarters in New York City and remote locations.</p> <p>You have a refined understanding of lighting techniques in multi-camera environments with a meticulous attention to detail. You will have an in-depth knowledge of camera systems and sensor science.</p> <p>In post-production, you will assist the team in media management, ingesting and color management.. While your primary job is shooting, you also have strong knowledge of Adobe or DaVinci Resolve workflows.</p> <p>You'll work day-to-day under the Director of Opinion Video to ensure flawless and consistent productions.</p> <p>This is a hybrid position based in New York City and includes regular attendance in the office each week per your departmental guidance.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Manage video production across Opinion's portfolio of shows.</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Plan shoots for all episodes, including camera, lensing and lighting equipment and media asset management.</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Lead cinematography and guard aesthetic standards of the various shows</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Oversee and supervise second camera operators and producers to assist on shoots.</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Work with show producers to ensure shooting locations will create perfect video.</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Work with the show's video editors to ensure fast and efficient workflow from production to post production.</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Work with audio engineers to ensure perfect audio capture for multi platform rollout.</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Perform related work as assigned.</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Demonstrate support and understanding of our&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nytco.com/company/mission-and-values/" target="_blank">value of journalistic independence</a>&nbsp;and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>You will report to the Director of Video.</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>8+ years of cinematography and/or video journalism experience</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>The ability to edit quickly with Adobe Premiere Pro</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Familiarity with shooting for motion graphic integration</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Can shoot excellent video in new and complex situations</p> </li> <li class="css-v55p23"> <p>Must be comfortable working on tight, demanding deadlines and in high-stress breaking news situations, and can juggl ...
