We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.
About the role
As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Applied, you'll be instrumental in designing and implementing the core software architecture that powers our cutting-edge vehicle platform technology. You'll take ownership of the entire software lifecycle, from concept and development to integration and validation, ensuring our solutions meet the rigorous demands of our customers in the automotive industry.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
Architect, design, and implement robust, scalable embedded software for software-defined vehicle platforms.
Lead System-on-Chip (SoC) bring-up activities and develop robust interfaces for both on-chip and off-chip controllers.
Develop and optimize automotive communication protocol implementations for reliable and secure data exchange.
Implement and optimize RTOS applications to meet automotive performance and safety requirements.
Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to bring up the complete vehicle platform system and resolve complex hardware-software integration issues.
Drive continuous improvement of software development processes, mentor junior engineers, and contribute significantly to our product roadmap.
We're looking for someone who has:
5+ years of hands-on experience with Embedded systems.
Hands-on mastery of C and C++ programming with a focus on scalable and efficient code.
Proven expertise in RTOS, middleware applications, and deep understanding of low-level hardware interactions.
Experience with System-on-Chip (SoC) bring-up and integration of on- and off-chip controllers.
Strong collaborative and problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude.
A desire to have high and direct impact in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Nice to have:
Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering productivity and workflow efficiency.
Familiarity with packet processing and automotive standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, SOME/IP).
Ability to communicate seamlessly in both German (A2+) and English languages.
Ability to work with safety-critical systems with real-time constraints and experience with ISO26262 and related standards.
