Your Impact at Lila: We are seeking an entry-to-mid level Procurement Coordinator to support our fast-paced, AI-driven Research Development organization. This role partners with scientists, lab operations, and cross-functional teams to enable timely, compliant, and cost-conscious procurement of scientific goods and services. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is early in their procurement career and eager to develop vendor management and contract support skills in a dynamic, research-driven environment.
What You'll Be Building
What You’ll Be Building at Lila: Procurement Operations Support
Assist with end-to-end procurement for RD-related categories including lab consumables, reagents, equipment, and scientific software
Help execute time-sensitive purchases quickly and accurately to support research timelines
Serve as a supporting procurement partner for assigned teams, ensuring reliable, compliant procurement assistance
Sourcing, Vendor Support Contracts
Aid in sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding scientific suppliers under guidance, ensuring alignment with procurement policies and quality standards
Support supplier communications and basic negotiations within established guidelines
Track supplier performance and assist with delivery, quality, and pricing issue follow-ups
Maintain contract records and assist with contract administration under supervision; support contract review and execution with Legal and the Procurement Manager as needed
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with scientists, lab managers, RD operations, Finance, Legal, and Quality to understand requirements, timelines, and basic contractual considerations
Provide guidance on compliant purchasing processes, preferred suppliers, and sourcing options
Balance speed, cost, and risk to support evolving research priorities
Experience with corporate travel or expense platforms (e.g., Ramp) in an operational or administrative capacity (preferred)
Process Management Compliance
Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards
Maintain accurate records to support audits, inspections, and reporting
Contribute to SOPs and continuous improvement initiatives as you gain experience
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or a related field (or in progress)
1–2 years of procurement, sourcing, or vendor-management experience, ideally supporting RD or scientific organizations
Basic experience sourcing scientific materials, equipment, and research services
Strong organizational and communication skills; developing negotiation abilities
Exposure to procurement or ERP systems (e.g., Prendio, NetSuite, Oracle) and contract management processes is a plus
Ability to travel up to 10%
Bonus Points For
Experience in biotech, pharma, diagnostics, or research-driven startups
Familiarity with CRO/CDMO engagements and lab operations
Professional certifications (CPSM, CPM, CSCP) or ongoing pursuit
Experience in fast-paced, growth environments and willingness to take on increasing responsibility
