ABOUT THE ROLE As VP engineering at Wispr, you’ll direct the engineering team in building the first capable, habit forming voice interface that scales to a billion users. You will help scale the product engineering, mobile, backend, and ML engineering teams from 10 to 100 people. Members of our technical staff are responsible for prototyping and designing new features of our voice interface, building infrastructure to handle <500ms LLM inference for millions of requests from everywhere around the world, and scaling the personalization of our speech models and LLMs. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? - Experience building and scaling teams from 20 to 100 people - Cultural alignment with Wispr: high agency, open communicator, detail oriented, and user obsessed - Can build a culture that’s thoughtful, aggressive, innovative on the eng team - Able to increase the velocity and predictable delivery of an engineering team - Product minded for a prosumer interface - Fluency in Typescript, React, and Python - Aptitude and clarity of thought - Creativity, excellence in engineering, and code velocity We consider all qualified applicants without regard to legally protected characteristics and provide reasonable accommodations upon request.
