About Us We are hiring energetic, hard‐working individuals to join our production team at our on‐shore Barge Processing Plant in Metlakatla, Alaska for the 2026 Summer Season. If you have experience in the seafood industry or transferable skills—be sure to highlight them in your resume. This is a great opportunity for those looking to work a full or peak summer season in Alaska. We process frozen round salmon for domestic and international markets. 2026 will be our third operating season in Metlakatla and our first full season using our new Barge Facility . Founded in 2023, we are an innovation‐driven company committed to quality and increasing the value of wild salmon. Job Responsibilities Seafood Processors perform a wide range of tasks including: Production Tasks Sort, pan, rack, and case-up salmon. Load whole fish onto conveyor systems. Inspect and remove defective or foreign items. Sort by grade, color, size, species, or sex. Move sorted products to designated containers or conveyors. Collect, weigh, and tally salmon. Package frozen salmon into baskets, cans, boxes, barrels, totes, or crates. Participate in plant clean‐up and sanitation. Safety & Work Environment Maintain a safe and clean workspace. Follow all safety rules, including use of PPE. Report hazards promptly. Work around moving machinery, forklifts, vehicles, and elevated walkways. Schedule Shifts up to 16 hours per day, 7 days a week. Breaks approximately every 4 hours. Schedule varies based on fish deliveries and production needs. Expect long hours in a cold, wet, loud environment with strong seafood odors. Physical Requirements General Physical Activity Stand for entire shift. Frequent repetitive motions of hands, arms, legs, and back. Frequent bending, twisting, and stair climbing. Occasional stooping, kneeling, balancing, or crawling. Lifting Regularly lift up to 10 lbs. Frequently lift up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Other Requirements Ability to evacuate quickly in emergencies. Comfortable handling, touching, and working near seafood products. Able to work quickly and maintain mental focus. Qualifications Required At least 18 years old. Authorized to work in the U.S. Able to communicate in basic English. Basic reading and writing ability. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Able to use standard units of measurement (weight, volume, distance). Reliable attendance and punctuality. Willingness to follow all company policies, including anti‐harassment policies. Comfortable living and working in shared bunkhouse housing with a diverse workforce. Preferred Previous seafood industry experience. Forklift experience (training available). Compensation & Overtime Hourly position with overtime after 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week (1.5x pay). Extensive overtime is common; workdays may reach up to 16 total hours.
