Senior Principal Engineer Join us as a Senior Principal Software Engineer on our Customer Engineering (CE) team in Bengaluru , India , where you will do the most meaningful work of your career and make a lasting impact on our customers and products. What you'll achieve As a Senior Principal Software Engineer , you will serve as a technical leader within the Recovery & Tools Engineering (RTE) group of the PowerStore Customer Engineering organization. You will own the post-event analysis , root-cause investigations , and resolution of the most complex customer issues across all product components. You will also provide architectural guidance , develop advanced troubleshooting tools , and influence future product designs through deep technical insights. This role is highly technical and requires exceptional leadership, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive resolution during the most severe escalations. You will work at the cutting edge of software engineering for storage platforms, diagnostics, and system internals. You will: Lead post-event analysis and drive corrective actions for customer-reported issues. Investigate, analyze, and resolve complex code-related issues across all product components. Design and implement advanced software tools that improve diagnosis, troubleshooting, and customer issue resolution. Act as a technical leader , providing architectural guidance and deep product expertise to internal engineering teams. Influence future product enhancements by contributing to design and implementation requirements. Prepare, review, and evaluate software and storage specifications for products and systems. Mentor engineers, elevate team technical capabilities, and lead through ambiguity and complex challenges. Here's what we are looking for with this role: Essential Requirements 15 years of experience in advanced software engineering or related technical roles. Strong programming expertise in C/C and Python . Foundational knowledge of networking (debugging, virtual, and physical interfaces). Solid understanding of multi- threading and IPC mechanisms. Deep experience with storage systems , especially in resiliency, high availability, reliability, and network block storage protocols ( iSCSI/FC ). Proficiency with Linux user-space tooling ( gdb , journals, rootfs structure, etc.). Demonstrated ability to debug complex code and drive high-quality solutions independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams and time zones. Leadership qualities with proven ability to influence, mentor, and drive resolution under pressure. Knowledge of Replication/Disaster Recovery technologies. Understanding of PostgreSQL databases and psql Desirable Requirements Experience working directly with customers, demonstrating a keen sense of urgency and ownership during severe escalations.
