Principal Engineer

Project Healthy Minds | Principal Engineer | NYC (Onsite) | $225-250K We're a mental health 501(c)(3) nonprofit building a care navigation platform – think "find the right therapist" but across every type of mental health treatment – with insurance awareness and consumer-aligned privacy baked in. Small team, startup pace, mission that matters. We're an AI-native team – actively experimenting with the best ways to leverage AI in how we build, not just what we build. LLM-powered data enrichment workflows, agent coding teams, the works. You'd own a significant chunk of the architecture and ship across the full stack: NestJS backend, Next.js frontend, data pipelines for provider and condition data. You'll shape eng culture and hiring as we grow. What we're looking for: someone who's startup tested and ready to be the first FT eng hire in the office. Comfortable making architecture calls and still writing code daily.
