What You’ll Do: As the Manager of the Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team, you will lead a team of customer-facing engineers who embed with customer AI organizations to help them design, prototype, and productionize AI agents using the WB platform. You’ll be responsible for building a high-performing FDE function that drives customer outcomes, accelerates product adoption, and creates durable feedback loops into Product and Engineering. About the role: Lead and develop a team of Forward Deployed Engineers supporting customers building AI agents with WB Weave (hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management). Own delivery quality and customer outcomes by scoping engagements, setting success criteria, and ensuring successful deployments in customer environments. Drive technical excellence by standardizing best practices and producing reusable assets (reference implementations, demos, example projects). Create a strong product feedback loop by synthesizing field learnings and partnering with Product/Engineering to influence the Weave roadmap. Run FDE operations by defining metrics, improving processes and playbooks, and coordinating escalations and cross-functional handoffs. Who You Are: Strong engineering background with expertise in Python and modern ML/AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.). Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents, and/or orchestration frameworks , including deploying real systems beyond prototypes. Experience leading or mentoring technical teams in high-ownership environments. Prior experience working directly with customers in technical consulting, solutions engineering, forward deployed, or similar roles. Excellent communication skills: able to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders and drive alignment in ambiguous situations.
