The Role and Impact:
As a Product Failure Analysis Engineer at Intel, you will play a pivotal role in driving improvements in product yield, quality, and reliability. You will be at the forefront of failure analysis efforts, conducting investigations into Intel's SoC, CPU, chipset, and Netcomm platform products. Your work will contribute significantly to the optimization of next-generation technologies, enabling Intel to deliver world-class solutions. Collaborating with design and process development engineers, you will help identify the root cause of failures, develop corrective actions, and innovate methodologies to enhance performance. This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact while advancing your technical expertise in failure analysis and device localization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed failure analysis and root cause investigations on Intel products, including SoC, CPU, chipsets, and Netcomm platforms.
- Conduct PC system and/or tester testing and analysis to isolate failing instructions and internal signals.
- Apply circuit analysis and advanced device localization techniques to identify failing circuitries and physical defects.
- Collaborate with process development and design engineering teams to determine the relationship between materials properties and electrical performance.
- Recommend corrective actions to counterparts in fabrication, assembly, and testing teams to improve yield, quality, and reliability.
- Participate in new product and technology transfers, enabling automation and improvement of failure analysis tools and methodologies.
- Develop and proliferate new failure analysis techniques across Intel sites.
- Drive strategic failure analysis capabilities for future technologies, employing innovative techniques and analytical tools.
- Maintain control plans throughout the product lifecycle to ensure consistent quality and reliability improvements.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Microelectronics with at least 5 years of working experience in relevant field
- Proficiency in failure analysis methodologies and techniques.
- Technical expertise in one or more areas, such as device physics, I/O structures, VLSI, Digital and Analog Design, fabrication processes, microprocessor architecture, micro architecture, microprocessor circuits, assembly language, IA-32, SCAN and Cache architecture, or DFT (Design for Testability).
- Programming experience in languages such as Perl, Python, or C.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and diverse team environment.
- Experience in driving automation and innovation in analytical processes.
