We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.</span></p></div><p>We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage the Electrical Systems and Modeling team responsible for the architecture, requirements, modeling, and simulation of electrical power systems for Archer's next-generation eVTOL aircraft. You will lead a team of engineers ensuring system safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across HV/LV power systems, electric propulsion integration and power electronics.</p>
<p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Define and architect the HV/LV power system accounting for safety, redundancy, isolation and grounding</li>
<li>Develop requirements for electrical subsystems including inverters and rectifiers integrated within electric engines, generators, actuators, and auxiliary power systems</li>
<li>Lead power system modeling and analysis: HV ripple effects, short circuit protection, transient behavior, and thermal management</li>
<li>Manage technical engagement with suppliers including specification development, technical reviews, and assessments</li>
<li>Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive system integration and VV planning and execution</li>
<li>Support functional safety analysis, WCCAs, FMEAs and compliance documentation (ARP4754, DO-178, DO-254, DO-160)</li>
<li>Lead design reviews and maintain technical documentation (Design Descriptions, Functional Design Specifications)</li>
<li>Build and mentor a high-performing team of electrical systems engineers to drive requirements</li>
<li>Make critical technical decisions balancing performance, safety, schedule, and certification constraints</li>
<li>Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to leadership, suppliers, and certification authorities</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What you need:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or related discipline</li>
<li>8+ years of experience in electrical system design for EV, aerospace, or similar high-reliability applications</li>
<li>3+ years of demonstrated people management experience</li>
<li>Strong background in systems engineering practices: requirements development, system decomposition, integration, and VV</li>
<li>Experience using requirements management tools such as Polarion or DOORS</li>
<li>Experience with electrical system modeling tools (MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice)</li>
<li>Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguity and competing priorities</li>
<li>Strong technical communication and stakeholder management skills</li>
<li>Track record of developing engineering talent and building collaborative team culture</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Bonus Qualifications: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Development experience for eVTOL or aerospace-grade electrical systems</li>
<li>PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline</li>
<li>Familiarity with certification and compliance standards: DO-160, DO-254, or ARP4754</li>
<li>Experience with Qualification Test Procedures</li>
<li>Passion for aviation and eVTOLs</li>
