Level is seeking a talented and versatile Senior Writer to join our Editorial team. This role will be responsible for crafting compelling narratives, developing engaging content, and maintaining our editorial voice across various projects and platforms. You'll collaborate closely with creative teams, contribute to story development, and help bring our worlds and characters to life through exceptional writing. This position requires someone who can balance creative storytelling with project requirements while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced game development environment. What You Will Do: - Narrative Development: Write and develop compelling storylines, character arcs, dialogue, and world-building content that align with project vision and creative direction. - Content Creation: Produce high-quality written content including in-game text, narrative scripts, character backstories, item descriptions, lore documents, and environmental storytelling elements. - Collaborative Writing: Work closely with game designers, artists, and other team members to ensure narrative elements integrate seamlessly with gameplay and visual design. - Script Writing: Create dialogue trees, branching narratives, and interactive story content that enhances player engagement and supports game mechanics. - Editing & Revision: Review, edit, and refine written content to maintain consistency, quality, and adherence to established tone and style guidelines. - Documentation: Maintain comprehensive narrative documentation including story bibles, character profiles, timeline documents, and world-building references. - Voice Direction Support: Collaborate with audio teams on voice-over scripts, providing context and guidance for character performances. - Research: Conduct research as needed to ensure accuracy, authenticity, and depth in narrative content across various genres and settings. - Iteration & Feedback: Incorporate feedback from creative leads, playtesting, and stakeholders while maintaining narrative integrity and vision. - Cross-Department Communication: Interface with production, design, and marketing teams to ensure narrative alignment across all project touchpoints. Qualifications Need to Have: - 3+ years of professional writing experience, preferably in games, interactive media, or related entertainment fields. - Portfolio demonstrating strong storytelling ability, character development, and versatile writing styles. - Excellent command of English grammar, syntax, and composition with meticulous attention to detail. - Experience writing dialogue and branching narrative structures for interactive media. - Ability to adapt writing style to match different tones, genres, and character voices. - Strong collaboration skills with ability to accept and incorporate constructive feedback. - Understanding of game development pipel ...
