You can learn more about working with us in the last section of this page.About the roleWe are looking for a People Operations professional to build and scale the systems, programs, and processes that power our team. You’ll ensure that Tandem’s people infrastructure — spanning onboarding, compensation, benefits, compliance, performance, and culture — runs smoothly, efficiently, and with excellence.You will serve as the operational backbone for the employee lifecycle and a strategic partner to leaders across the company. This role blends execution and strategy: building scalable systems while staying close to the day-to-day employee experience.This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who loves precision, thrives in ambiguity, and takes pride in operational excellence. If you are deeply organized, data-driven, and motivated by helping exceptional people do their best work, we want to meet you.If you join, you will:Own and optimize end-to-end people processes: onboarding, offboarding, benefits, compensation, performance, compliance, and engagementMaintain data integrity across HR systems (HRIS, payroll, ATS) and serve as the system administrator for core people toolsPartner with Finance on payroll, headcount planning, and compensation cyclesEnsure compliance with all employment regulations and internal policy standardsBuild scalable frameworks and SOPs for hiring, feedback, and employee developmentWork with leadership to improve the employee experience — from first day to lastManage and track key people metrics and reporting to enable better decision-makingLead and support company-wide programs (e.g., engagement surveys, performance reviews, recognition programs)Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees — handling questions with empathy, discretion, and clarityDrive operational excellence by continuously identifying opportunities to automate, simplify, or improve existing processesWe’ll be most excited if you have:2–7 years of experience in people operations, HR, or business operations in a fast-paced environment (startups, consulting, or scaling tech companies preferred)Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills; you’re comfortable with data, spreadsheets, and workflowsExperience managing HRIS and related tools (e.g., Rippling, Gusto, Justworks, Workday, etc.)Excellent judgment and confidentiality — you handle sensitive information with careStrong written and verbal communication skills; you bring clarity and calm to complexityA builder’s mindset — you enjoy designing from zero and scaling what worksCuriosity and intellectual horsepower; you learn fast and stay rigorousA sense of ownership — you don’t just identify problems, you fix themComfort with ambiguity, change, and moving at high velocityThis is a list of ideal qualifications for this position.
