About the Team Connect is Stripe's leading product for marketplaces, on-demand services, e-commerce site builders, invoicing platforms, professional SaaS products, fundraising platforms, rental management platforms, and more. By utilizing the power of Connect, users in each of these categories can link multiple parties for the exchange of goods or services. These users rely on Connect for the crucial function of reliably routing payments between these parties. By powering fast, flexible, compliant, and cost-efficient routing of payments on the internet, Connect not only spurs the creation of innovative business models, but it also enables organizations (whether they are businesses, nonprofits, or governmental agencies) to channel previously-offline payments to the internet. This team delivers the primary dashboard experience for Connect platforms - the surface through which platforms understand, manage, and grow their business on Stripe. The work spans analytics and insights, platform onboarding, connected account management, and the systems that enable other Stripe teams to build high-quality experiences for platform users. You'll lead a distributed full-stack engineering team working across APIs, frontend surfaces, and data pipelines that directly impact platform satisfaction and retention. What you’ll do As an Engineering Manager at Stripe, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of your team and the broader organization. Your responsibilities will include: Responsibilities Leading engineering and design processes, coaching, mentoring, and supporting your team as they build innovative solutions. Collaborating with stakeholders across product, design, infrastructure, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment on projects and objectives and shaping the team’s strategy and roadmap. Owning problems from end-to-end by managing diverse systems, processes, and technologies, while continuously seeking opportunities to optimize efficiency and user experience. Upholding high engineering standards, ensuring consistency across codebases, and implementing best practices throughout your team. Minimum Requirements 5+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing and growing teams of 5+ engineers focused on building and shipping products at scale 8+ years of full time software development experience Experience building extensible, leveraged software solutions that scale to different kinds of user needs, with the ability to empathize with users and advocate for exceptional user experiences Strong problem-solving skills, with a history of creatively tackling complex challenges Background in dealing with ambiguity and executing on multiple high-impact work streams simultaneously Commitment to fostering a supportive, feedback-driven, and challenging work environment Technical proficiency to engage thoughtfully with engineers about architecture and product design, offering valuable insights when necessary A mindset of autonomy and entrepreneurship, where you're excited to ...
