Strategic Sourcing Manager, Cloud Infrastructure & Compute

Your Impact at Lila Lila Sciences is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager focused on Cloud Infrastructure and Compute to lead procurement strategy for large-scale compute resources including cloud platforms, GPUs, compute infrastructure, storage, and data services. This role sits within Finance and works closely with engineering, AI research, and infrastructure teams to ensure Lila has the compute capacity required to advance frontier science while optimizing cost, scalability, and vendor partnerships. This is a strategic sourcing role, not traditional purchasing. The position will help shape how Lila procures and manages critical AI infrastructure as the company scales. What You'll Be Building Develop and execute sourcing strategies for cloud infrastructure, GPU capacity, and high-performance computing resources, including reserved capacity and committed spend programs Lead procurement and vendor evaluation for GPU clusters, AI training infrastructure, and emerging compute platforms Build and manage strategic vendor relationships with major cloud providers, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and utilization tracking Drive cost transparency and identify savings opportunities across compute and infrastructure spending Partner with engineering, AI/ML, and platform infrastructure teams to forecast demand and translate technical requirements into commercial agreements Support budgeting, forecasting, and scaling initiatives for compute infrastructure investments What You’ll Need to Succeed 5+ years of experience supporting rapidly scaling technology or research organizations in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or infrastructure procurement Familiarity with GPU market, AI compute platforms, and hyperscaler landscape Experience sourcing cloud infrastructure, enterprise technology, or data infrastructure Strong vendor negotiation experience with large technology providers Ability to collaborate with technical teams and translate infrastructure needs into commercial agreements Experience managing vendor contracts with significant spend ($5M+) Background in technology, AI infrastructure, cloud services, or data platforms Bonus Points For Experience with procurement tools or spend management platforms Understanding of AI/ML training workflows and how compute requirements scale with model size MBA or relevant advanced degree About Lila Lila Sciences is the world’s first scientific superintelligence platform and autonomous lab for life, chemistry, and materials science.  We are pioneering a new age of boundless discovery by building the capabilities to apply AI to every aspect of the scientific method.  We are introducing scientific superintelligence to solve humankind's greatest challenges, enabling scientists to bring forth solutions in human health, climate, and sustainability at a pace and scale never experienced before.
