Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.What You Will Be Doing:You will lead cross-subsystem integration and test activities for Helion’s current and future fusion generator prototypes. This is a hands-on, role with broad technical scope and responsibility through build and commissioning phases. You will report to a Mechanical Engineering Lead and play a key role in shaping the execution and culture of a growing engineering team. This role is onsite at our headquarters in Everett, WA.You Will:Own the integration sequence and day-to-day execution of assembly across generator subsystems, including vacuum systems, electromagnets, high-voltage capacitor systems, controls, diagnostics, and radiation safetyDevelop and manage a multidisciplinary schedule on a daily and weekly basis to ensure full build completionDefine, plan, and execute integrated subsystem tests in collaboration with subsystem ownersLead build completion reviews to verify operational readiness and test preparednessCollaborate with production, test, and engineering teams to improve integration and build processesAuthor work instructions for technician teams to support both nominal builds and non-conformance resolutionLead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions during integration and buildDrive strategies for hardware upgrades, replacements, and integration improvements to maximize uptimePerform trade studies on build sequencing, hardware prioritization, and resource allocation to influence Helion’s system development approachRequired Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field3+ years of professional experience delivering full-scope engineering projects, including schedule ownershipDemonstrated use of engineering first-principles and structured problem-solvingHands-on experience across multiple engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, and fluidsEffective technical communication across functional and organizational levels#LI-Onsite#LI-KL1BenefitsOur total compensation package includes benefits, including but not limited to:• Medical, Dental, and Vision plans for employees and their families • 31 Days of PTO (21 vacation days and 10 sick days) • 10 Paid holidays, plus company-wide winter break • Up to 5% employer 401(k) match • Short term disability, long term disability, and life insurance • Paid parental leave and support (up to 16 weeks) • Annual wellness stipendHelion is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
