<p>Enveritas builds solutions to improve the measurement of sustainability in agricultural supply chains and include smallholder farmers in responsibly sourced agricultural products, in particular coffee and cocoa. A key component of this requires developing and financing projects that directly improve sustainability of production and benefit the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.</p> <p>We are a dynamic non-profit organization working across 34 coffee and cocoa growing countries around the world, with a remote-first environment. We bring together technology and machine learning with rigorous field processes to collect and process data on supply chain sustainability and environmental impact. This is made possible by a hardworking and diverse team dedicated to delivering impact to smallholder farmers and developing more sustainable cocoa and coffee supply chains.</p> <p><strong>Summary </strong></p> <p>Enveritas, working with its implementation partner in Indonesia, is seeking an <strong>experienced and motivated Indonesia Cocoa Agronomist </strong>to support our growing sustainability work in Indonesia. This role will provide <strong>technical cocoa agronomy expertise</strong> to strengthen field interventions, improve the quality of agronomy-related data collection, and generate insights to support reporting, verification, and outcomes.</p> <p>We are looking for a self-driven individual with <strong>strong knowledge of cocoa Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), experience working with smallholder farmers, and the ability to collaborate closely with implementing partners and stakeholders </strong>across the cocoa sector.</p> <p>The position is part-time, with an expected commitment of 10 - 20 hours per week throughout the 6-month contract term. You will be based in Indonesia with frequent travel to rural cocoa-growing areas, particularly <strong>Sulawesi</strong>. You will work with a small team of regional and international staff and have the backing of Enveritas’ global expertise in sustainability and operations delivery.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p> <p><strong>Agronomy Technical Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide technical advice on cocoa agronomy and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for smallholder farmers in Indonesia</li> <li>Design and develop agronomy-focused interventions, e.g. improving yield, pest and disease management, and rehabilitation practices</li> <li>Run selected farmer trainings</li> <li>Train agents on how to provide and run farmer training</li> </ul> <p><strong>Questionnaire and Tool Development</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and refine agronomy-related questionnaires and field monitoring tools</li> <li>Ensure survey accurately captures farmer practices, constraints, and sustainability indicators, especially in the context of cocoa</li> </ul> <p><strong>Monitoring, Verification, and Reporting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Conduct field-based monitoring to assess adoption of agronomic practices and implementation quality</li> <li>Support verification and agronomy assessments through field visits and data review</li> <li>Analyze agronomy-related data, track key project indicators, and contribute insights to internal and external reports (experience with Excel preferred)</li> <li>Monitor the quality of data collected daily, synthesize insights and report results to the regional team</li> <li>Support presentations for key in-country stakeholders</li> </ul> <p><strong>Partner and Stakeholder Engagement</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support coordination with implementing partners, extension services, farmer organizations, NGOs, and other key cocoa stakeholders in Indonesia</li> <li>Contribute to mapping and strengthening agronomy-related stakeholder networks in Indonesia</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, or a related field</li> <li>4+ years of professional experience in cocoa agronomy, farmer training, or agricul ...
