Come join an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact!The RoleAs we prepare to launch our Dutch and EU operations, we’re building a small but highly capable leadership team.We’re looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Director of Business Development to help build our European operations from the ground up. Role would include developing business partnerships with Dutch and EU Fintechs to enable us to open US brokerage accounts while supervising compliance with Dutch and mifid regulations — someone who combines a start-up mindset with financial services and regulatory experience.Location: NetherlandsCommitment: Full-time or part-timeRegulatory Classification: “Beleidsbepaler” under the Wet op het financieel toezicht (Wft) (Policymaker under the Financial Supervision Act)Regulator: Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM)What You’ll DoWork closely with the founding team to build and launch our regulated business in the Netherlands and EU.Identify, meet with and enter into partnerships with Dutch and EU fintechs and financial service companies who want to offer US brokerage accounts to their clients.Supervise the passporting and offer of our services into other EU jurisdictions.Implement and supervise governance, compliance and risk management structures in line with MiFID II regulations.Serve as a designated policymaker, subject to AFM fit and proper assessment.Liaise with the AFM, auditors, and other stakeholders during the licensing and supervision process.Contribute to strategic decisions, ensuring ethical and compliant growth.Who You AreDemonstrated experience and success in business development including recruiting business partners and successfully closing engagementsProven understanding of the financial services industry, including Dutch financial regulation and the AFM supervisory process.7+ years’ experience in financial services (brokerage, fintech, bank or investment firm)Comfortable operating in a lean, hands-on environment.Fluent in Dutch and EnglishData privacy and/or AML experience a plusWhy Join UsPlay a foundational role in launching a regulated fintech start-up that is expanding internationallyDevelop clients in the Netherlands and EUCollaborate with a small, mission-driven team.Flexible hours and equity potentialShape a company that values innovation, transparency, and regulatory excellence.Note: Appointment to this role is subject to AFM approval under the Wft.
