At Turion Space, we’re building spacecraft to secure Earth and expand humanity’s reach beyond it. This Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and refine manufacturing methods, solve production issues, and drive continuous improvement. This is a full-time, exempt position based on-site at our Irvine, California headquarters.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Design: Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures, utilizing best industry practices, to optimize production efficiency and product quality. Design and specify manufacturing equipment and tooling.Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to resolve production issues, including equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and quality problems.Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and changes. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes. Facilitate communication and coordination between teams.Project Management: Manage manufacturing projects, including the implementation of new processes, technologies, and production lines.Quality Assurance: Develop and enforce quality control standards to ensure that products meet or exceed specifications. Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for quality issues.Training and Development: Contribute to training documentation. Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.Experience: 4+ years Manufacturing Engineering experience in aerospace, or other complex, high-tech industry.Technical Skills: Experience in manufacturing software and tools (e.g., CAD, MRP, PLM, MES systems). Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and equipment management.Problem-Solving: Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address production challenges and implement effective solutions.Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and clearly present technical information.Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in manufacturing processes and documentation.Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Education: Master’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Experience: Experience with satellite assembly, integration, and testing.Advanced Skills: Proficiency in advanced manufacturing techniques, process optimization, and technology integration.Certifications: Relevant certifications in manufacturing or quality management (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing) are a plus.Innovation: Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and systems Manufacturing Engineer Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 USDITAR Requirements:This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
