Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to lead the development, analysis, and verification of structural designs for spacecraft systems and components. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring structural integrity, performance, and reliability across all phases of the program—from early concept development and detailed design through modeling, testing, correlation, qualification, and launch.This is a full-time, exempt position based on-site at our Irvine, California headquarters.ResponsibilitiesPerform dynamic structural analysis on satellite systems including modal, random vibration and jitterPerform preliminary hand calculations ahead of the detailed modeling process to reduce design iterationsCoordinate design solutions with design engineers to meet vehicle requirementsDerive load and environmental requirements for subsystem and component level analysisDevelop and oversee environmental test campaigns to validate spacecraft and component design margins and ensure compliance with qualification and acceptance requirementsOwn logistics and planning for hardware and test instruments from concept through launchMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field5+ years of professional experience performing structural analysis and testingExperience with finite element modeling and analysisExperience planning and executing structural environmental tests including acoustic, sine burst, sine vibration, random vibration and modalSolid understanding of composite and metallic structures, joints, and fastener analysisAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environmentPreferred Qualifications7+ years of experience performing structural analysis and testing on satellite systemsMaster’s degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering fieldFamiliarity FEMAP, NASTRAN and Super ElementsFamiliarity with spaceflight structural environmental testing standardsExperience guiding junior engineers and providing constructive feedbackA passion for working in small, fast-moving teamsSenior Structural Analysis Engineer Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 USDITAR Requirements:This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
