Job Description

We are currently seeking a mid or senior level Spacecraft Systems Engineer. The Spacecraft Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing of the whole spacecraft systems and subsystems. This role involves working on all phases of a satellite’s product lifecycle, from proposal and concept through initial and final design to testing and final operations. The Spacecraft Systems Engineer will work to ensure that all the realized system meets the desired function, performance, and reliability of the mission at hand.Key ResponsibilitiesPush the technical design for critical satellite programs forwardDerivation and maintenance of system requirements to ensure mission successWorking with internal and external stakeholders to define mission ConOpsDevelopment of subsystem budgetsTest planning for verification activitiesCollaboration with the multi-disciplinary expertsTracking of system compliance and overall performance to the desired mission needsLead teams through technical milestones such as MCR, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and PSRAuthor Interface Control Documents (ICD)'s and other documentation necessary for the systems engineering processInteract directly with customers and/or suppliers to ensure mission successQualificationsBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field6+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, Spacecraft design, or a related field, with hands-on experience in satellite design and integration.Previous experience with the derivation and maintenance of requirements from a system level down to a lower levelAbility to create system level budgets (mass, power, dV, pointing, link, etc.) and track the budget throughout the project lifecycleProven ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and disciplinesMust be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.Preferred Qualifications8+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, Spacecraft design, or a related field, with hands-on experience in satellite design and integration.Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and applicable software such as Cameo, Capella, Innoslate, or othersExperience with satellite analysis tools such as Python, Matlab, STK, GMAT, or FreeFlyerExperience with requirement management tools such as Jama, Doors, Flow, or othersPrevious experience in a startup work environmentFull product lifecycle experience: Initial concept design, preliminary design, manufacturing, testing, and operations Spacecraft Systems Engineer Salary: $140,000 - $195,000 USDITAR Requirements:This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
