Concourse is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, CRV, YC, BoxGroup, and 50+ angel investors from companies like Brex, Rippling, Flywire, Deel, Jeeves, and DoorDash.About the RoleWe’re hiring a Backend software engineer to build and scale the core infrastructure that powers our AI agents. You’ll work across APIs, data models, integrations, and backend systems that handle high-volume queries and critical finance workflows.Your mission is to build reliable, scalable backend systems that enable our AI agents to deliver fast, accurate, and trustworthy results for enterprise customers. You’ll develop new features, expand integrations, optimize performance, and contribute to the architecture that supports hundreds of thousands of AI-driven queries per month.This is a high-impact role for someone who loves building backend systems, enjoys solving complex data and integration challenges, and wants to grow quickly inside a fast-moving startup.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild Core Backend Systems: Develop and maintain backend features, APIs, and business logic that power our AI agents and user-facing applications.Own Integrations: Build integrations with ERPs, banks, CRMs, HRIS, payroll, billing systems, and other finance data sources.Create ETL Pipelines: Develop and maintain ETL processes that ensure smooth, reliable data flow from external systems into our database.Optimize Backend for Scale: Work with the AI team to ensure backend systems support high-volume AI queries with strong performance and reliability.Take Ownership of Product Components: Own large areas of the backend with a high degree of autonomy and an ownership mentality.About You2+ years of backend engineering experience delivering production systems and featuresStrong experience building REST APIs, working with databases, and developing backend services (TypeScript/Node.js preferred)Comfortable building integrations, reading API documentation quickly, and connecting disparate systems with urgencyStrong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and moving data across siloed systemsExcellent problem solver who enjoys debugging, prototyping, and thinking creatively through technical challengesThrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is able to self-direct, move quickly, and operate with high ownership in a startup settingExperience with financial systems (ERPs, billing, payroll, or other systems) or fintech products (preferred but not required)Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), ETL tools (Fivetran, Airbyte)Why You Should Join UsJoining Concourse is an incredible opportunity to get in at the ground level of a high-growth, category-defining AI company.
